Smombie has no accounts. The apps you block, your rules and your history stay on your iPhone.
Screen Time data
Smombie uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity). When you pick apps, categories or websites, Apple gives Smombie anonymous tokens, not names. Smombie keeps those tokens in storage shared only with its own extensions, so they can show the shield and apply your rules.
Usage numbers, such as today's minutes in your apps, are calculated and shown by iOS on your device. Smombie cannot send them anywhere, and doesn't.
Rules, breaks and history
Your rules, breaks, shield visits, mood and statistics are stored on your device. They are removed when you delete Smombie.
Diagnostic log
Smombie keeps a technical log on your device for two weeks, such as when a rule started or a break ended, to help fix problems. It includes rule names and times, but never which apps you block. It is never uploaded automatically: it leaves your device only if you choose to include it when sending feedback.
Feedback
Feedback you send from the app goes to our error tracker, Sentry, with your message, the email address you enter (optional), your device model and iOS version, and the diagnostic log if you choose to include it.
Analytics
If analytics are on, Smombie sends anonymous product events to PostHog, such as finishing onboarding, saving a rule or starting a break. Events include details like the rule type or break length. They never include which apps or websites you block, your usage, or your rule names. You can turn analytics off in Settings.
Crash and error reports
Smombie uses Sentry to receive crash and error reports. A report includes the device model, iOS version, the error, and recent steps in the app, which can include rule names and times. It never includes which apps you block. Screenshots, view hierarchies and personal information are turned off.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Smombie schedules them on your device, for example when a rule starts or a limit is reached. No notification content is sent to a server.
Purchases
Apple processes all payments. Smombie uses RevenueCat to check your subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase details, never your payment details or Screen Time data.
This website
This website has no accounts, ads or tracking. Our host, Vercel, may keep standard request and security logs. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
Children
Smombie is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your choices
You can turn off analytics in Settings, revoke Screen Time or notification access in iOS Settings, manage your subscription through Apple, and delete all local data by deleting the app. For any privacy question, email hello@karelbusta.dev.
